What has been my best moment playing on PokerStars?
I have those moments very often because of Pokerstars. I am Omaha High/Low player and PokerStars is the only site where I can find the right traffic and multitable. So my best moment is just being able to play the game that I love. Thank you Pokerstars!
Why do I play Omaha High/Low? Why is it more fun than hold'em to me?
Omaha High/Low is easier to master than hold'em. Decisions in Omaha High/Low are simpler than those in hold’em. This is particularly true of pre-flop hand selection and decisions made on the flop.
Omaha High/Low is easy to beat at low limits. I play mostly at 0.02$/0.05$ and 0.05$/0.1$. The highest I played was 0.5$/1$. the Pot Limit Omaha Hi Lo games are typically very loose. There are some players that consider Omaha High/Low to be hold’em with four cards, so they play more hands than is optimal for maximizing their profit. This creates a great opportunity for me. I am selective (sometimes too much…) and I understand hand values.
Omaha High/Low has lower variance (lesser swings) because it is a split game – high hand splits the pot with low hand, if there is a low. Playing Omaha High/Low is a great fun because it offers a lot of excitement. This is the game of draws and re-draws, many hands are decided on the river.
The game affords many exciting aspects (large pots, difficulty of knowing which players are playing for high and/or low, pushing out second best hands with third best hands). As I am also a bonus chaser – Omaha High/Low is just perfect for me since pots are usually bigger than in other poker games. Omaha High/Low games have more raked hands that can count towards bonus withdrawal requirements or to get higher level status.
In 2013 I am planning to obtain Goldstar status each month. I mostly play cash games and from time to time I play tournaments. I enjoy playing Omaha High/Low no matter what happens.
If I took the poker chips and the money involved in the game extremely seriously, it would create stress and dislike for the game when I was losing. I just have a solid bankroll managment. Losing sessions, bad beats are unavoidable. I dont want to be discouraged by the inevitable. I always focus on the quality of my play and I enjoy making good decisions.
